About Us

Welcome to the official website of the South Ward Fire Co. Station 4,  Tamaqua PA.

The South Ward Fire Company is one of four fire companies in the borough of Tamaqua.  Our fire company is dispatched out of the Schuylkill County Communications Center as Fire District 65 Station 4.  Our direct response area covers the Borough of Tamaqua and surrounding communities.  We serve a first due response area of approximately 10 sq. miles with a  population of approximately 7000.  The Borough of Tamaqua was founded in 1799 and is located in the eastern part of Schuylkill County.  The Borough consists of mainly wood frame structures dating back to the early 1900's.

Our Station operates the following equipment:  1 Engine, 1 Squad, 1 Utility, and 2 Brush Units. We are a multi-functional fire station that responds to various types of emergency situations.  Our volunteers are continually training to maintain the skills needed to keep up with todays ever changing technology.
